About

At the young age of six, Matt B. Mahoney took up the classical guitar, encouraged by his parents to become a concert musician. As time progressed, the desire for different tonality and timbre overcame him, and he bought an electric guitar. However, it was not until the summer of 1996 that he began to seriously play bass (after many failed attempts to find a competent bassist for the band). Following countless hours of practice, Matt Mahoney has become the bassist and guitarist you hear today.

More recently, Matt began playing upright bass in various jazz settings. From standards to fusion to funk, Matt can play.

Matt can be seen playing with different bands at a variety of venues in New England. He is also available for one-on-one lessons for classical guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and bass guitar.
